ByteMe Phone Spy helps you locate and recover your missing phone.
How does it work?
ByteMe Phone spy works by scanning your incoming SMS (text) messages looking for specific
codes
that you define. If the message contains one of your codes, ByteMe initates the appropriate action, otherwise it simply ignores the message.
You don't need to worry about Byteme using up your battery either, because it only runs when you receive a text message.
When you first install ByteMe you go into settings and set up your custom activation codes:
From the settings in this example, this phone would respond to any text message containing:
"find my phone"
which would cause the phone to scream with an audible alarm --even if the ringer is turned off
"locate my phone"
which would initiate a geo fix that is then relayed back to the sender as a
link into Google Maps
.
"call me"
which would initiate a call back to the phone you sent the text from so you can hear what is going on around your phone.
You can also choose to share your activation codes with friends and family so you can be found in an emergency.
If you forgot to customize your activation codes (or you had to use the
remote install method
), ByteMe has the default activation codes set to:
"byteme.find" --to activate the find feature;
"byteme.locate" --to activate the locate feature; and
"byteme.listen" --to activate the listen feature.
You can make your activation codes as simple or as complex as you choose, but make sure that they are something you will remember when you lose your phone and something that you won't normally receive as a text message.
What if it isn't working?
What if I've already lost my phone?
